Programme overview

We offer seven themed study days. The annual Clinical Dermatology Care course run by St John’s DermAcademy is aimed at registered nurses or allied healthcare professionals who wish to extend and consolidate their clinical knowledge in the field of dermatology nursing. It will appeal particularly to nurses within the specialty, community / practice nurses, nurse practitioners and nurses who see patients with skin rashes in acute services.

Each study day will include an interactive element or practical workshop in addition to plenaries. The themed study days are: Patient assessment and overview of dermatology therapeutics, Eczema, Skin cancer, Inflammatory skin conditions, Acute and Emergency dermatology, Psoriasis.

Programme overview

We are excited to announce this new half day course which provides an overview and update on the pathogenesis of psoriasis, setting treatment goals, emerging treatments and the move towards personalised medicine in psoriasis.

The course is led by St John’s Institute of Dermatology Severe Psoriasis service.

Course Fees – £750 Full course

Fee includes – 7 full day, themed study days delivered by a variety of clinical experts (a minimum of 6 to be completed for course certificate), course handbook and further learning references. For those not interested in attending the whole course, each day can be attended as a single stand-alone study day at a cost of £150 per day.

Academic Credit

If academic credit is desired, students undertaking the course have the opportunity to gain 30 credits at level 6 or 7 by completing an additional standalone work based learning module via Kings College London.
