The Unit for Population-Based Dermatology Research is based at the St Thomas’ Hospital Campus and headed by Carsten Flohr, Professor and Consultant Dermatologist, and conducts translational and clinical research into the prevention, epidemiology and treatment of skin diseases, with a particular focus on paediatric atopic eczema. This is done through collaboration on large cohort and intervention studies, such as the Enquiring About Tolerance (EAT) study, the PROmotion of Breastfeeding Intervention Trial (PROBIT), and the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC).
